<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system for contour colors of characters which can display characters easy to view even if the background changes in any color by displaying the character contours in the colors complementary to the background image colors, or displaying the contours in white when the characters and background are black, or in dark brown when they are red. <P>SOLUTION: The screen 2 is arranged in front of a gaming machine 1 at its center and the control panel 3 such as of a joy stick and buttons is placed in its front. On the screen 2, for instance, a background is painted with clouds 4 floating in the sky 5. A character group 6a is displayed on the lower screen.
