PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary-operation type electronic component capable of providing an operation feeling in a rotary operation and of providing an auditory operation feeling by generating rhythmical operation sound, in relation to the rotary-operation type electronic component mounted for various control of an AV apparatus or an onboard air conditioner. SOLUTION: The electronic component is structured such that a rotator 5 is rotatably combined with a base body 1; an operation piece 19 with an engagement part 19A engaging with an uneven part 5D on the upper surface of a flange part 5C of the rotator 5 projected therefrom is arranged in a state where its movement is restricted by an inside wall of a terminal extraction part 1C of the base body 1 and a leg part 18 of a plate-like spring 17, and the upper surface of the operation piece 19 is brought into elastic contact with the plate-like spring 17.
