PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a land prepit address of a space part even when data is recorded at high speed to an optical disk, such as a DVD-R/RW, which specifies an address by using a land prepit address. SOLUTION: A tracking error signal is generated by subtracting a TE- signal from a TE+ signal with a subtractor 101 for TE signals, and the tracking error signal is binarized with a comparator 102. A VDP signal, which is obtained by converting a laser beam applied to an optical disk to an electric signal, is binarized with a VPD signal binarization device 103. Output of the VPD signal binarization device 103 is delayed with a delaying device 104 by time required to generate the tracking error signal. Then, the output of the delaying device 104 is subtracted from the output of the comparator 102 with a land prepit detection device 105, and the result of the subtraction is outputted as a land prepit address signal.
