In an encapsulated multilayer printed circuit the terminal portions of the conductors of the different levels have parts thereof bent into a common plane which parts are supported by but not embedded in the encapsulating material. Thin strips of beryllium copper or brass etched to form the required configuration are superimposed in a stack and insulated from each other by strips of insulating tape coated with thermoplastic resin as represented by 1, Fig. 3. The terminal portions 2 of the conductors which extend laterally from different levels are bent in a press so that two rows of terminal parts 3 which lie in a common plane are provided along the assembly. The assembly is then potted In epoxy resin 6 so that the rows of terminal portions are left exposed. An integrated circuit or discrete miniature electronic components 7 have their terminal arms 8 connected to the terminal parts 3 and terminal parts 4 are soldered to conductors 10 on printed circuit board 11. Power is supplied from bus-bar 13 via strip terminals 12 to the printed circuit assembly 1.</p> |
