The jointed carrier arm, e.g. in medical applications for lamps or a body part holder during operations, is composed of arms (1,2) and joints (3-5) to support an object (6). The joints can be locked and released by remote control or manually. When released, the joints remain stable in their setting until moved into a new position. A screw (7) is at one half of each joint, to act on a planetary gear to move the joint setting. The blocking disks (15) at each joint can be disengaged by a pneumatic system and returned by springs. |
