Method for controlling a vehicle drive string comprises synchronizing the revolution difference using an electric machine whilst producing a torque acting positively in the rotary direction of the camshaft of the engine and the input shaft of a gearing system. Preferred Features: The torque of the engine is controlled as a function of vehicle- and operation-dependent parameters. The revolution of the engine is controlled by the selection of a theoretical revolution depending on the revolution difference. The theoretical revolution is adjusted via the torque of the electric machine.
