摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively adjust the axial directional position of a worm shaft of an electric power steering device. SOLUTION: This electric power steering device 1 has the double lead type worm shaft 24 driven by an electric motor 16, a worm wheel 25 on the driven side and a gear housing 26 to store the worm shaft 24 and the worm wheel 25. An output shaft 21 of the electric motor 16 and the worm shaft 24 are integrally formed. A motor housing 18 of the electric motor 16 regulates axial direction relative movement of bearings 19, 20 to support the worm shaft 24. The worm shaft 24 regulates axial direction relative movement of the bearings 19, 20. The motor housing 18 is connected to the gear housing 26 free to adjust its position in the axial directions X1, X2 by screwing connection. It is possible to adjust the position of the worm shaft 24 in the axial directions X1, X2 against the gear housing 26 and to adjust backlash of engagement of the worm shaft 24 and the worm wheel 25.
