1275066 Coated polyvinyl chloride SOBREFINA SA 9 May 1969 [21 May 1968] 23772/69 Heading B2E [Also in Division B5] A strip of polyvinyl chloride is coated on one or both surfaces with polyvinylidene chloride and the strip is heated to such a temperature that the polyvinylidene chloride forms a homogeneous layer firmly bonded to the polyvinyl chloride, the strip being held along the edges, e.g. by needle or tooth-shaped devices, during heating. The strip may be coated by a roller with an adhesion-promoting agent, e.g. an emulsion of polyacrylic esters, heated to evaporate the emulsion fluid and then roller coated with an emulsion of polyvinylidene chloride and water, heated to remove the water from the emulsion, and the coating smoothed by rollers. The coating process may be repeated several times.
|
