PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article effectively preventing leakage of body fluid from the width direction, and efficiently absorbing and retaining the body fluid in the absorbent body. SOLUTION: An absorbent layer 4 has a liquid retaining layer 41 and a liquid diffusion layer 42 disposed in the side of a back sheet 3 of the liquid retaining layer 41, and the liquid diffusion layer 42 includes continuous filaments extending in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article 1. The liquid permeation time of the liquid retaining layer 41 in an excretion point is preferably 10 sec or less. A porous water-repellent sheet 5 is preferably disposed between the liquid retaining layer 41 and the liquid diffusion layer 42. The liquid retaining layer 41 is preferably formed with at least an opening 8 penetrating in the thickness direction of the liquid retaining layer 41. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
