A stent (1) includes a stent body having a circumference and struts disposed helicallyabout the circumference in turns. At least two of the struts have respective strutends. At least two paddle-shaped markers (12) extend away from a respective oneof the strut ends. The markers have respective marker extreme ends and differentoverall longitudinal length substantially aligning the marker extreme endsapproximately along a single circumference of the stent body. A method for manufacturinga helical stent includes the steps of providing a stent body with struts disposedabout the circumference thereof in turns and with bridges (9) connecting thestruts in adjacent turns. The stent body is expanded and, thereafter, some ofthe bridges, in particular, sacrificial bridges, are removed. |
