The method involves generating a distinguishable signal during actuating rear fog lamp (2) and exceeding a preset speed by a vehicle (1).The rear fog lamp is switched off during further exceeding of the preset speed over a certain time period. An acoustic signal and an optical signal is produced, and after switching off the rear fog lamp a detectable signal is produced for a driver.
