<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of an optical writing unit 70 capable of being positioned in an image forming apparatus main body while improving the maintainability of photoreceptors 2Y, 2M, 2C and 2K and their peripheral devices. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an upper cover 50 opened/closed between a first position and a second position, and a cover frame holding the optical writing unit 70 in a state where it is fixed on the upper cover 50 and moving the optical writing unit 70 held by itself between a writing operation position and a retreat position with the opening/shutting of the upper cover 50. A cover frame which energizes the optical writing unit 70 in a predetermined direction by an energizing coil spring while holding the shaft to be held provided in the optical writing unit 70 so as to float, whereby the shaft to be held of the optical writing unit 70 separated from the writing operation position is butted against a part to be butted of its own is used as the cover frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
