PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a firmware download device, capable of automatically upgrading firmware versions of all function units to the latest version by downloading the latest firmware to a certain function unit in downloading firmware to a plurality of function units connected thereto. SOLUTION: A version management part 15-1 performs comparison of the version of new firmware downloaded to a buffer memory 19-1 with the version of firmware stored in a flash memory A14-1, when the both are differed, a comparison processing part 16-1 further performs comparison of the version of the new firmware with the version of each firmware stored in each of flash memories 14-2 to n of other function units, and the new firmware is stored in a buffer memory 19-2 to n of a function unit which is differed therefrom.
