PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terrestrial telescope where a mode is easily switched to a photographing mode without deteriorating the observation performance as the terrestrial telescope, and also, various photographing apparatuses are selectable. SOLUTION: An optical path splitting element 4 such as a beam splitter or a half mirror is arranged between an objective lens 1 and an eyepiece 2 for observing an object image through the objective lens. A mount part 5 for mounting a digital camera 6 is provided in the terrestrial telescope, and the mount part is provided so that the CCD 9 of the digital camera 6 may be arranged on the imaging surface of the objective lens 1 when the digital camera is mounted on the mount part. In the observation mode, the optical path splitting element 4 is shifted to a position deviated from the optical path, then, the object image is brightly observed through the eyepiece. On the other hand, when the optical path splitting element 4 is inserted to the optical path, photographing the object is possible.
