PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of easily and accurately observing the position of a puncture needle, a catheter or the like inserted to a subject and surely navigating it to the region of interest. SOLUTION: A cross sectional image parallel to the puncture needle and a cross sectional image vertical to the puncture needle are respectively generated from the volume data of the subject and are displayed at a display device 33 together with the specified region of interest. Also, the position and angle of the puncture needle are recognized in real time. Thus, when the puncture needle is to get off a target reaching region, it is predicted before the puncture needle reaches the target reaching region, and the accident that the puncture needle reaches an inappropriate part is prevented.
