Provided are a start control device for a hybrid vehicle, and a hybrid vehicle with a start control device, which are intended to improve the startability of the vehicle while reducing the loads of automatic engine stop and restart controls upon the driver. A start control device for a vehicle (10) including an engine (6), a clutch (7) arranged to connect and disconnect the power transmission between the engine (6) and drive wheels (11), and an electric motor (8) so connected as can transmit the power not through the clutch (7) to the drive wheels (11), comprises start request detecting means (3a) for detecting a start request, stop state deciding means (3b) for deciding whether or not the vehicle (10) is in a stop state, start standby control means (4) for controlling, when the vehicle (10) is in the stop state, the clutch (7) into a disengaged state, while leaving the engine (6) stopped, till the start request is detected, and start control means (5) for driving the electric motor (8) and driving the clutch (7) in an engaged direction, when the start request is detected so that the control of the start standby control means (4) is ended. |
