The invention provides a method for the treatment of an animal suffering from a tumour wherein said method comprises the steps of administering systemically a TReg down-regulating active agent in an amount sufficient to reduce the TReg level to a value of less than 50 % of the TReg level immediately before administration and administering an anti-tumour immunotherapy active agent in an amount sufficient to inhibit, reduce or eliminate the tumour. Kits for use in the method of the invention and the manufacture of medicaments for use in the method of the invention are also provided.
