<p>A surface light source for illuminating a display member of a display has first and second light guide plates stacked with a low-refractive layer interposed therebetween. The side edge on the light entrance side of one light guide plate is on the opposite side to the other, and the light emergence surface of the first light guide plate faces the back of the second one with a low-refractive layer. In each light guide plate, from the light entrance side to the far end side, a light emergence suppression region, a light emergence gradual increasing region, and a light emergence promoting region are formed. Each light source is composed of at least two point light sources outputting lights of different colors. In the light emergence suppression region, the different-color lights are mixed, and color variation of the light outputted from the light emergence surface of the second light guide plate is prevented.</p> |
