A transmission channel links two masters (3,4) and a slave (5,6) to each other. Each master links to an arbiter (7), which determines an access sequence, in which the masters have access to the transmission channel. Before a planned access to the transmission channel, a master communicates meta data to the arbiter to be stored by the arbiter. An independent claim is also included for a semiconductor component for carrying out the method of the present invention.
