A control circuit for a bicycle has the front and rear lights powered by a dynamo, e.g. hub dynamo, and has an overload protection for the rear light to limit the rear light supply following failure of the front light. The overload protection comprises a shunt with switching elements, especially bipolar elements, and which reduces the threshold voltage on front light failure.
