<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and a display apparatus in which thermal expansion and contraction of an optical sheet can be absorbed by a bend of a flexible material and a gap where dust intrudes can be prevented by a bend of the flexible material. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device includes a light emitting lamp 1 disposed in the back of a display panel 7, an optical sheet 2 disposed between the light emission lamp 1 and the display panel 7, a box-like support 3 supporting the light emitting lamp 1 and the optical sheet 2, and an attachment frame 4 to attach a rim portion of the optical sheet 2 to an opening portion of the support 3, wherein the attachment frame 4 is composed of an annular plate 41 opposing to the surface on the rim portion of the optical sheet 2, and a cylindrical part 42 continuing from the outer rim of the annular plate 41. An annular groove 43 is provided on the inner face of the annular plate 41, and a flexible material 5 that pushes the rim portion of the optical sheet 2 to the support 3 is held in the annular groove 43, so as to absorb thermal expansion and contraction of the optical sheet 2 to prevent intrusion of dust. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
