<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device preventing flickers caused by pixel shifting from being conspicuous. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device which displays an image by dividing a frame of an input video signal into two or more sub-fields according to the pixel shift amount, supplying the video signal of the sub-fields to a spatial light modulating part 2 to spatially modulate the light from a light source part 1, and also shifting the pixels of the spatial light modulating part 2 by a pixel shifting part 3 in synchronism with the video signals of the sub-fields, has an image processing part 5 which adjusts the input video signal and the video signals supplied to the spatial light modulating part 2 so as to satisfy FD×2<SP>n</SP>= M/S, or FD×2<SP>n</SP>= FS/C/S (however, n = 0 when the pixel shift amount is 4, and n = 1 when the pixel shift amount is 2), wherein a frame rate is FD, a light modulation device rate in the spatial light modulating part 2 is M, the number of divisions of the sub-fields is S, a field sequential rate in the spatial light modulating part is FS, and the number of color separations is C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
