PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital single lens reflex camera capable of displaying a through-image wherein dust is hardly adhered to a front face of an imaging element. SOLUTION: The digital single lens reflex camera includes: a photographing lens 101 attachable to/detachable from a camera body; a reflection mirror 201 for switching a direction of an object luminous flux between a position at which the object luminous flux formed by the photographing lens is directly led to a main CCD 221 and a position at which the object luminous flux is led to a finder optical system; a liquid crystal monitor 26 for displaying the object image in terms of the through image on the basis of an output from the main CCD 221; and a lens detection switch 39 (255) for detecting the attached/detached state of the photographing lens to/from the camera body, wherein when the lens detection switch 39 detects that the photographing lens is removed during the display of the through image on the liquid crystal monitor 26, the reflection mirror 201 is driven to shut an optical path to the main CCD 221.
