<p>A display device has a display panel (2), reading means (15), and control means (10). The display panel (2) has a rectangular display region having a first area, long sides, and short sides and having an aspect ratio of a (where a > 1). The reading means (15) reads a rectangular original image. The control means (10) controls the display of the original image on the display panel and has enlarged image creation means (11), image defining means (11), and display control means (11, 16). The enlarged image creation means (11) creates an enlarged image obtained by enlarging the original image by a predetermined magnification. The image defining means (11) defines a partially enlarged image having a predetermined width obtained by splitting the enlarged image by a split line extending in parallel to the direction of either the long sides or the short sides and having an area equal to or less than the first area. The display control means (11, 16) causes the entire portion of the partially enlarged image on the display region.</p> |
