PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ink having excellent color development and giving an image having high environmental gas resistance and bronzing resistance.

SOLUTION: The ink at least contains a coloring material. The coloring material is a compound expressed by general formula (I) or its salt, has peak absorption wavelengths in the range of 580-640 nm and 650-700 nm determined by measuring the light absorption of a liquid obtained by diluting the ink to 2,000 times mass with a 90 mass% aqueous solution of N,N-dimethylformamide, and has a B/A value of ≥0.75 and ≤0.90 wherein A is the light absorption at the peak absorption wavelength between 580-640 nm and B is the light absorption at the peak absorption wavelength between 650-700 nm.
