<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a WDM type PON system in which ONU extension is facilitated. <P>SOLUTION: A WDM type PON system is characterized in that each ONU includes an optical transmitter with a changeable transmission wavelength, an optical signal receiving filter with a changeable reception wavelength and a controller (wavelength negotiator), in that an OLT selects a transmission wavelength and a reception wavelength to be used from among wavelengths being free at present in response to a wavelength allocation request from each of ONUs and allocates the selected wavelengths to the request source ONU, and in that a controller of the ONU switches the transmission wavelength of the optical transmitter and the reception wavelength of the optical signal receiving filter respectively to the transmission wavelength and the reception wavelength designated by a response message from the OLT and starts data transmission/reception. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
