PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of assisting the selection of routes, in such a way that users such as elementary and junior high school students can select safe routes, and safely and efficiently reach destinations, such as schools and homes. SOLUTION: A route-assisting method with incentives comprises a step for reading a user ID with a reading device, from a recording medium carried by a user and reading a location ID set in the device by a storage device; a step for computing a point, which has been computed according to the distance with respect to bypass location at a location identified by the location ID, according to the passage of time, accumulating the computed point in a accumulation point corresponding to the user ID, and storing it in the storage device; a step for reading both a peripheral point indicating a point of a location, located in the periphery of the location identified by the location ID and an incentive image, corresponding to the accumulation point by the storage device; and a step for outputting screen display information, indicating both the acquired peripheral point and the incentive image to output devices.
