PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile communication system in which a communication terminal can properly select whether or not a transmission proof is required when the communication terminal transmits image data via a composite machine. SOLUTION: The facsimile communication system is provided with the communication terminal 3 for transmitting image data, and the composite machine 1 for receiving the image data transmitted from the communication terminal 3 and transmitting the received image data by means of facsimile communication or electronic mail communication, wherein the communication terminal 3 is configured so as to receive the entry of a transmission start of the image data and whether or not the transmission proof is required and to transmit necessity data denoting whether or not the transmission proof is required on the basis of a result of the entry reception to the composite machine 1, and wherein the composite machine 1 includes a determination means for determining whether or not the transmission proof is required on the basis of the necessity data, and a means for recording the transmission proof when the communication terminal 3 has transmitted the image data to the composite machine 1 by the facsimile communication or the electronic mail communication and the determination means has determined the necessity of the transmission proof.
