PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral membrane module which can realize a simple connection between membrane elements and, at the same time, causes no connection loosening or disconnection during operation. SOLUTION: In this spiral membrane module, a plurality of spiral membrane elements 20 each comprising a membrane and a flow passage material wound in a plurality of layers around a perforated center tube 3 are connected to each other in series through a connecting mechanism J and is housed within a pressure vessel 10. One of upstream side end or downstream side end of the membrane element 20 is provided with the connecting mechanism J which comprises a movable member M comprising an engaging part 9d engageable with the other of upstream side end or downstream side end of the membrane element 20. The movable member M comprises an abutting part 9c which is abutted against an inner wall 10a in the pressure vessel 10 to lock the engagement by the engaging part 9d. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
