<p>This invention generally relates to techniques for displaying an image using a plurality of holographically generated subframes (HI... HN). More particularly the invention is concerned with methods, apparatus and computer program code for enhancing the effective resolution of images displayed in this way. A method of generating data for displaying an image defined by a plurality of holographically generated subframes (HI... HN) for display sequentially in time, the method comprising: receiving data (T) for said image for display; determining holographic data (H' ) for a said subframe from target image data (T' T' ' ) at a first spatial resolution (2M); converting said holographic data (H') to subframe data (H) for display to generate a said holographic subframe (HI...
