PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reverse driving with a driving operation feeling similar to advance driving. SOLUTION: This driving support device is provided with: a camera 7 photographing a rearward peripheral image of one's own vehicle; and a display device 9 showing the image in a position allowing a driver to perform visual recognition in an attitude in time of the advance driving. When a shift lever is changed over to a reverse position, the rearward peripheral image photographed by the camera 7 is shown on the display device 9, and changes over direction control wheels of the vehicle from front wheels to rear wheels. A notification part 12 notifies that steering operation is changed over, through a speaker 10. A speed restriction part 13 restricts a speed to a prescribed value or less.
