<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus for consecutively forming images of a plurality of pages while switching a plurality of developing devices in which toner having the same color each other is stored, wherein an interval between the images is appropriately set. <P>SOLUTION: In a color printing mode (a), the respective color toner images are formed two by two and superposed each other on an intermediate transfer belt 71. The interval d11 between the same color toner images is narrowed, while the interval d12 between the different color toner images is widened, thereby coping with the switching of the developing devices. In a printing mode (b) in which a monochrome image is formed by using one developing device, the intervals d21 and d22 between the respective toner images are made the same. In a printing mode (c) in which the monochrome image is formed while switching four developing devices, the toner image I34 set just before switching is moved forward (leftward in figure), whereby the interval d34 between the toner image I34 and a toner image I35 to be formed continuously is widened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
