<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of shortening useless waiting time until image forming operation is started by setting appropriate idling time so that paper wrinkles and unevenness of fixing property can be prevented from occurring because heat is accumulated without being consumed in a paper non-passing area as shown when a toner image is fixed on large-size paper after consecutively fixing a toner image on small-size paper by a fixing means. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: an idling performing means for performing the idling of a rotating member when the toner image is consecutively fixed on paper whose size is smaller than maximum size by the fixing means and then an unfixed toner image is fixed on paper whose size is larger than the size of the paper on which the toner image is consecutively fixed; and an idling time control means for controlling an idling time when the idling performing means performs the idling in accordance with image information of the paper to which fixing processing is performed next. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
