PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a RDS automatic tracking method by which a frequency at which a level of a received signal is excellent can be acquired in a shorter period of time without the need for a user of a receiver to execute particular operations. SOLUTION: The RDS automatic tracking method includes: a first detection step of detecting a reception state of a frequency of a signal received at present and judging whether or not a result of the detection is lower than a first level; a first frequency extract step of extracting a plurality of frequencies of programs received in the order of newly received date and time when the result of detection of the receiving state of the signal with the frequency received at present is lower than the first level; a second detection step of sequentially detecting the reception state of the frequencies extracted in the first frequency detection step in the order of the newly received date and time and judging whether or not a result of the detection exceeds a second level; and a frequency determining step of determining the received frequency of the program on the basis of a prescribed criterion using the result of the judgment of the second detection step.
