PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric supercharger including a rotary machine assisting the rotation of a supercharger rotary shaft and reducing thrust load acting on the rotary shaft. SOLUTION: The electric supercharger is provided with a surface magnet type motor as the rotary machine assisting rotation of the supercharger rotary shaft. The surface magnet type motor includes a rotor 310 and a stator 320, and the rotor 310 includes a magnet. The rotor 310 and the stator 320 are provided at positions offset in an axial direction. In other wards, the rotor 310 and the stator 30 are provided to make distribution of magnetic flux density between the rotor 310 and the stator 320 asymmetrical with respect to an axial direction center Z0 of the rotor 310.
