PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a friction loss in the rotary drive of a camshaft without causing the bending deformation of the camshaft, in the camshaft support structure of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: An upper cam carrier integrated head cover 34 is integrally provided with a plurality of upper bearings 42 supporting an intake camshaft 26 and an exhaust camshaft 30. A #1 lower bearing member 44, #2 to #4 lower bearing members 46, and a #5 lower bearing member 48 are disposed to correspond to each of the upper bearings 42 supporting each journal of the camshafts 26, 30. In a state that the camshafts 26, 30 are mounted to the head cover 34, clearances between the #2 to #4 lower bearing members 46 and the camshafts 26, 30 become larger than clearances between other lower bearing members 44, 48 and the camshafts 26, 30.
