PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the increase of an engine width dimension and weight while mainly inhibiting the increase of a height from a bottom to the upper surface of a cylinder head. SOLUTION: A height H2 to the upper surface from the bottom surface of the cylinder head 9 is kept low by providing a frame shape installation seat 11 on which the circumference edge surface of an intake manifold 10 is adhered on the side of the cylinder head 9, and making an attachment angleθ2 of a glow plug 5 small. Moreover, a depression 12 continuous to an intake port 6 is formed inside the installation seat 11. Consequently, an intake air channel capacity is secured and the intake manifold 10 is miniaturized while reducing the weight of the cylinder head 9 itself. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
