PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a multi-phase polymer material having a hierarchical structure by controlling independently reaction and phase separation using light and the multi-phase polymer material having the hierarchical structure. SOLUTION: The production method comprises a 1st step for obtaining a first phase separation material, which involves exposing two or more types of compounds selected from the group consisting of monomers and/or polymers to light to cause reaction and phase separation of the above compounds, a 2nd step for obtaining a second phase separation material, which involves shielding the light to stop the reaction so as to cause further advancement of the phase separation of the first phase separation material, and a 3rd step for obtaining a multi-phase polymer material, which involves exposing the second phase separation material to light, so as to cause reaction and phase separation of the second phase separation material.
