The cable (2) comprises insulation (21) and a conductor (22), which is solid or stranded. The stripped conductor is introduced into the terminal (1) bush (13, 14) which is closed at one end. The conductor is encapsulated (at least partially) by injection of a molten conductive metal (3) into the bush. The bush cavity is filled completely. The cable is held against axial tension in the bush. The metal (3), zinc or a zinc alloy, is injected through a radial bore (16) into the bush cavity. An independent claim is included for the corresponding cable terminal.
