<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat dissipation of a surface light source device using point light sources, and to reduce nonuniformity in luminance between the point light sources. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light source comprises a plurality of point light sources 1; a light guide plate 4 emitting light from an exit surface, where the light is output from the point light sources 1 and enters at least one side; a bottom case 8 having a side formed almost in parallel to an entrance face A of the light guide plate 4; and a light source substrate 2 with a plurality of the point light source 1 arranged on the entrance face A side of the light guide plate in a predetermined interval. A space is formed between the light source substrate 2 and the side face of the bottom case 8, and a resin frame 3 is provided for holding end of light emitting surface B of the light guide plate 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
