PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever fitting type connector capable of preventing disengagement of a lever and decreasing the height. SOLUTION: This lever fitting type connector comprises: a male connector 10 having a male hood 10F; a female connector having a connector body fitted to the inner-periphery side of the male hood, and a female hood 40 for covering the outer-periphery side of the male hood; and a lever 30 that is rotatably provided in a surface in parallel with the fitting direction of the connector inside the female hood and fits and separates the male and female connectors by rotation. The lever has a side plate 31 rotatably engaged to a boss 45 projecting on the inner surface of the female hood in parallel with the rotation direction of the lever. A drive section 36 is provided within the thickness range of the side plate at a position separated from the rotary support of the lever on the side plate. Engagement projections 11, 12 for transmitting fitting force and separation force generated by the rotation of the lever to the male connector by engaging the drive section of the lever when fitting the connector are provided on the outer surface of the male hood in the male connector.
