PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metadata retrieval device, a metadata retrieval method, and a metadata retrieval program for flexibly handling the metadata in a new form without having to perform complicated processing. SOLUTION: The device comprises: a metadata schema acquisition means 104 for acquiring a metadata schema defining a plurality of attribute names included in a concept; a metadata acquisition means 100 for acquiring metadata which is defined by three items of concepts, attribute names and attribute values corresponding to the attribute names; and a combining schema preparation means 110 for preparing a combining schema defining connection properties of a plurality of different concepts on the basis of the metadata schema obtained by the acquisition means 104 and the metadata obtained by the acquisition means 100.
