PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure safety even when abnormality develops in a bookbinding device or the like. SOLUTION: In the bookbinding device applying an adhesive to the back part of the paper bundle and having a cover bonding part for bonding a cover with the back part of a paper bundle, to which an adhesive is applied, when no existence of a coating part for coating the adhesive in its retreated position is detected by a positional detecting sensor, locking action for prohibiting the opening action of the front door of the bookbinding device B is realized.
