PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize erroneous recognition of a voice command of a robot device having a voice recognition function imparted thereto. SOLUTION: The robot device controller drives a robot by recognizing a voice command of the user 10, and comprises a camera 2 for picking up an image of the face of the user, and a determining section 3 for determining whether the mouth of the user moves, based on the image from the camera, and issuing a mouth motion detecting signal 4 to a voice recognizing section 6 only when the determination section determines that the mouth is moving. The voice recognizing section 6 is configured so as to recognize only the voice command received when the mouth motion detecting signal 4 is input, and issues a motion command to a drive control section 12.
