PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable thermal back wrap that applies heat to specific areas of the user's back for pain relief. SOLUTION: The disposable elastic thermal back wrap 10 has one or more thermal packs 50 comprising a plurality of heat cells 22, provides convenient, comfortable and consistent heat application, and has good conformity to the user's back for pain relief. An exothermic composition comprises iron powder, water, carbonaceous material, a metal salt, and a water-holding material. Each thermal pack comprises a continuous layer of a semirigid material.
