<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric booster capable of obtaining the desired boosting ratio to the input, and ensuring the good pedal operability even when a brake assist is operated by an electric actuator. <P>SOLUTION: An input piston 22 with the input thrust being given from an input rod 9 interlocked with a brake pedal 8, and a booster piston 21 with the booster thrust being given from an electric actuator 40 with an electric motor 41 as a drive source are arranged in a relatively movable manner, and the pistons 21, 22 are normally retained at the neutral position of the relative movement by a spring 34. While checking the relative displacement between the pistons 21 and 22 by a potentiometer 45, the electric motor 41 is controlled so that the relative displacement becomes an optional predetermined value. In this condition, the boosting ratio of a desired value can be obtained by canceling the reaction force of the brake hydraulic pressure applied to the input piston 22 by the urging force of the spring 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
