PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize difference between the right and left sides of restraining force acted on an occupant's both shoulders, without decreasing the whole restraining force.
SOLUTION: An airbag 32 for a front passenger seat is structured to include a left side airbag 44 and a right side airbag 46. Normally, the occupant seated in the front passenger seat 30 is restrained by a shoulder side webbing 54B at a shoulder and a chest on the outer side in a vehicular width direction, so that the restraining force F1 is already acted on the left shoulder. So, reaction force F2 which a right shoulder of the occupant receives from a right side airbag 46 is set to be relatively larger than reaction force F3 which the left shoulder of the occupant receives from a left side airbag 44, thereby making the total restraining force generally equal in the right and left sides.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
|
