PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill processing machine that can shorten the time of an input process. SOLUTION: The bill processing machine has an input mechanism 38 for executing an input process including a temporary holding process of identifying and temporarily holding bulk bills input from outside the machine and a storage process of storing the temporarily held bulk bills, a binding storage mechanism for executing an ordering process of binding the bulk bills stored by the input mechanism in the machine to store bill bundles, a bundle output mechanism for executing a bundle output process of outputting the bill bundles stored by the binding storage mechanism from the machine, and a control part 37 for controlling the input mechanism, binding storage mechanism and bundle output mechanism. If the number of bulk bills stored in the input mechanism reaches a preset start-designated number after a single input process of the input mechanism, the control part executes a normal ordering process of binding the bulk bills stored in the input mechanism to store bill bundles by the binding storage mechanism.
