PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for achieving partition size variable firmware in a CPU integration equipment, and to provide a method for updating its firmware. SOLUTION: The variable firmware integration device preliminarily writes the partition size information of firmware in the boot parameter region of a Flash ROM. A boot loader stored in the Flash ROM transfers all parameters including the partition size to a kernel after start. The kernel stored in the Flash ROM prepares the partition in the Flash ROM based on the leading address and partition size information of the kernel, and mounts a root file system.
