PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize distributed processing of a search query in consideration of characteristics of individual search devices. SOLUTION: The distributed retrieval system includes a plurality of search servers A-I, it creates a plurality of partial search queries in response to the given search query, and one part of the plurality of search servers carries out distributed processing of the plurality of partial search queries. Each search server stores conditions (search share conditions data) for processing the partial search queries, and the one part of the search servers to carry out the distributing processing of the plurality of partial search queries is determined based on the conditions and each partial search query.
